COLBAR

"Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”

After weeks of pestering i manage to get S to go to COLBAR with me, and it thrilled me so much! Cause i know such places would eventually cave in to urbanisation and in years to come, such quaint, old-fashion "cafes" would disappear to the commercialized food chains, condos, offices, ...etc u name it. *_*
located right at the entrance into Wessex estate and i cant believe we still missed it, took a few rounds before eventually realising its JUST at the entrance!
pretty blue wooden doors or whatever u call it. everyone seemed to lose a piece of their worries when they come here. Honestly, a thirst quenching cold beer, fresh air and unlimited silence. what else can anyone ask for?

The menu didnt get me excited too much though:< little pricey IMHO. However the vintage details of the place really did made up a little for the misgiving.

i have a thing for red letter boxes, totally adore them no matter big or small!!

settled for the signature fried rice, tad disappointing for all the rave all over the forum.
Poached eggs were horrendous, basically just paying 5bucks for 2 half-cooked eggs on a square pc of buttered toast no hollandaise sauce or whatsoever.

S was set on the lamb racks, i thought they were quite good especially the wedges which was done using real potatoes, not some frozen preserved crap. Priced at 23bucks?? you would realize by now you are paying for the nice quiet environment by now.

and well if the food dun impressed you too much, its fine. whipped out your trusty camera and start the vanity picture taking rampage. haha.

haha, futile attempt to scrape off meat from the bones.

byebye colbar. i love what you have to offer from the hectic city life we live day to day. but i really cant say the same for the munchie you are offering to our tastebuds.

In summary, i would rate COLBAR 3/5 for a foodie hunt tucked off the beaten track. And be very prepared to pay resturant prices for coffeeshop standard food.
